Draft for review. This text has not been reviewed by a lawyer and will be finalised before public launch.

Who can use the platform

Candidates must be at least the minimum working age in British Columbia and must provide accurate information in their profile and applications.

Employers must be a real business hiring for real positions in the hospitality or food industry. We review new employer accounts and job postings before they are published.

Job postings

Postings must describe a genuine, lawful job, show a pay range and comply with BC employment standards. Postings that are misleading, discriminatory, request payment from candidates or are unrelated to hospitality may be removed without refund.

Paid postings run for 30 days from approval. The monthly Employer plan is billed monthly and can be cancelled at the end of any paid month. The yearly Employer plan is paid in advance for 12 months at the discounted rate shown on the pricing page; it cannot be cancelled during the term, is non-refundable, and ends after 12 months unless renewed. Prices are in Canadian dollars and exclude applicable taxes.

Shifts

HospitalityHire Vancouver is a connection service. When an employer books a worker for a shift, the employer hires that worker directly for the shift, sets and pays the wage, and is solely responsible for everything an employer is responsible for, including payroll, deductions, WorkSafeBC coverage, workplace safety and compliance with the BC Employment Standards Act. HospitalityHire Vancouver is not the employer, not a party to the work arrangement and not a placement agency; it does not select workers for employers, guarantee that anyone will respond, or guarantee that a booked worker attends.

Workers must submit a government-issued identity document before responding to shifts. Employers may book or decline any responder. A booked worker who cancels less than 24 hours before the start, or who does not attend, has that recorded on their track record; employers record attendance and may rate and comment on workers honestly and in good faith. Ratings and comments are visible to other employers.

Employers must post only real shifts with lawful pay at or above the BC minimum wage, must brief booked workers about the work, and must pay booked workers for the hours worked as posted. Repeated cancellations, non-payment or unsafe conditions lead to removal from the platform.

Applications and decisions

HospitalityHire Vancouver organises applications and highlights where a candidate’s details match a posting. All hiring decisions are made by the employer. We do not reject candidates, guarantee interviews, or guarantee that a role will be filled.

Acceptable use

Do not copy, scrape or redistribute job postings, profiles or resumes. Employers may use candidate information only to assess the application it was submitted for. Do not contact candidates for unrelated purposes.

Accounts and termination

You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details private. We may suspend or remove accounts and listings that break these terms, are fraudulent, or put other users at risk.

Liability

HospitalityHire Vancouver is a platform that connects employers and candidates. We are not a party to any employment relationship and are not responsible for the conduct of users, the accuracy of listings or profiles, or the outcome of any hiring process. To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the fees you paid us in the previous three months.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms; material changes will be announced on the site. Questions: hello@hospitalityhire.ca.
